About this event

2021 Strategic Plan - Dream, Strengthen, Grow. Have your say.

Over the past two months, we have engaged people across Queen’s Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) and SEAMO exploring what matters most to them about Queen’s, and their hopes for the future. We heard how much people appreciate and value the unique possibilities our size, expertise, and sense of community gives us – and how much energy you have for an even stronger future.

Your voices shaped the second phase of our planning, a series of “strategy hives.” Building on the themes you identified, these sessions will bring people together around key strategic questions, and create a vision for each topic. Each of the Hives will build on the previous one, and over the full set, we will identify a strategic framework that will guide us for the next five years.

Hive Seven: Nourishing a Thriving, Inclusive FHS Community

June 16, 2021 from 10:00 am-12:30 pm

Even before COVID-19, all academic organizations have been grappling with how to create a healthy, nourishing environment that supports students, faculty and staff to thrive, but this last year has put the need for inclusion, true diversity, indigenization, and wellbeing front and centre. The Queen’s community is demonstrating a deep desire to be true leaders in the realm of EDII.We aspire to be an institution that prioritizes diversity, creating accessible pathways for all learners, creating inclusive and healthy environments for learning and growth, dismantling inequitable structures and protecting the wellbeing of our trainees, faculty, and staff. Join us for this Strategy Hive where we will explore what we can do in this time of profound social change to fully embrace and embed principles of inclusion, equity, diversity and indigenization in everything we do, and how we can craft flexible, learner-centred programs that enable creative and innovative education and individual wellbeing.

This Hive will be hosted online and facilitated by The Potential Group. The session will be highly interactive, with multiple breakout groups and opportunities to shape direction and actions for the future of the Faculty of Health Sciences and SEAMO.
